Ashoka's Edicts

Ashoka's edicts were designed to promote four main goals, the Buddhist values, general welfare, justice and security. This included loving one another, being respectful and practicing non-violence. He promoted peoples well being to make sure they had good health, shelter, clean water and food. Some were for fair laws and how people were treated in the empire's courts and jails.  Lastly, they concerned about security and enemies of the empire and people who weren't citizens.

A example of one if King Ashoka's edicts is the first rock inscription at Girnar
